Rock Chic - DILAN WALPOLA TALON RING

I once went out on a first date with a boy who proceeded to psycho-analyze me by dissecting and discussing the significance of a gold and diamente skull-and-crossbones pendant I was wearing. He mused over coffee and cake, "Looks like someone has a hidden dark side that surfaces through physical manifestations of what's acceptable to mainstream society." I didn't have the heart to break it to him that I was only wearing it because it was the In-thing back then and it matched my outfit. I smiled and nodded, "Wow, that's quite a theory...."
(That should have probably been a big neon sign as to how the rest of that relationship would turn out.)


Fast forward to now and the last laugh’s on me. He was right in his own way. While I was never really into pink, bows and bling, my knees grow weak at a Pamela Love knuckle-duster. Studs and leather? Bring it on, Hermes. I'm lusting for the tough and chic Alexander Wang's Eva sandals. You get the idea.

So when I stumbled upon Dilan Walpola's brilliant Talon Clip and immediately reached for my credit card, that was a part of me that went "Mmm really Rin? What's with the 'badass-don't-f*ck-with-me' modern-day armour look? Do you need a hug?"


And as I envisioned the weight of cool brass against my fingers and felt the curves and ridges of the hand sculpted and cast talon, that’s when I smiled and nodded, "Wow, because I can."
